I am so sick of the harangue on our President. He is not a socialist and neither are 80% of Democrats. Spreading that lie amongst the citizens of our country is so unpatriotic that it must seem shameful even to most Republicans. Republicans have been calling Democrats unpatriotic since Tricky Dicky. They are still trying to paint themselves with the American Flag while painting Democrats as commies, which we are not and never will be. Communism failed every time it was tried and Socialist systems have failed in every instance also. This is America: we are not going to fail.
Get real people; we are Capitalists, too. However, we believe in the capitalism that our parents taught us about: the system where hard work, innovation and change counts. A Capitalist system where honesty is the first precept and integrity is the mainstay. There is so little of that left in the Capitalism we see practiced among us today in America. The current style of capitalism is even being exported overseas where it will eventually be used against our businesses.
Do we really want cheats and liars leading us or fighting us? I don’t think so and that is why Americans voted for a change in America – a change for the better – a change that returns us to the original roots of Capitalism. We all know that it works; it pushed us to the top of the heap. What happened to our system was greed. That is why we are where we are. Americans have seen how the new capitalism worked and they know it has done them no good. It is not good capitalism when businesses lie and cheat the public. Capitalism is not an economic system where anything goes. “It’s not personal, it’s just business,” has become the byword in big business and even little businesses have caught on to the “survival of the fittest” philosophy which was never meant to mean that cheaters, liars, monopolists, scam artists and other crooks win out. It is not. Our recession/depression thing can be laid right at the feet of those dishonest businesses. Get real America, the land of the free and the home of the brave needs integrity to return to our boardrooms, our city halls and our schools. Every one of us must stand up and say “Enough is enough.”
The truth will set us free. Remember?
